Beverly Hills, California - June 1, 2005 - Superior Galleries, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SPGR) announced today veteran numismatist and auction executive Larry Abbott, most recently with Heritage Galleries and Auctioneers, the largest coin auction house in the U.S., has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer with Superior Galleries. Mr. Abbott will lead and oversee the growth of both the Company's sales and auction divisions.

Silvano DiGenova, CEO of Superior Galleries, said, "I couldn't be more pleased that Mr. Abbott has decided to join Superior. He is an experienced, decisive leader with a proven track record of successfully growing revenues. With over 23 years' experience in numismatics, Mr. Abbott brings an ideal mix of product knowledge and management expertise to his position. This combination of skills fits precisely with our strategy of assembling the best possible team of professionals, and delivering the best customer service experience in the market."

Mr. Abbott began his career in numismatic sales in 1982, and was most recently the Executive Vice President of Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers in Dallas, Texas. At Heritage he was involved in all aspects of auctions, including sales management, consignments, marketing, and private client services. Mr. Abbott commented, "I am very excited at the opportunity to lead a team of such outstanding professionals, and to have a direct impact on revenues and profits for the organization. As Executive Vice President at Superior, I will report directly to CEO Silvano DiGenova, and look forward to playing a leadership role in building Superior Galleries. Mr. DiGenova and I have discussed plans and strategies at length, and I am extremely confident that our newly enhanced access to capital, along with key additions to our staff such as Paul Inho Song, will allow us to continue to accelerate revenue growth and profitability, while setting the 'gold standard' for customer service in the market."

Mr. DiGenova further noted, "The addition of Mr. Abbott to our staff should send the very clear message to collectors and dealers that Superior Galleries is committed to delivering the highest levels of quality, value and service our clients. A key element of our strategy going forward will be to differentiate ourselves as the most customer-focused firm in the market.
